MIYAZAKI™ SHAFTS INTRODUCES NEW C. KUA™ SERIES

KOBE, JAPAN – September 1, 2010 - SRI Sports’ Miyazaki Shafts, an exclusive, graphite golf shaft brand, announced today the introduction of the new C. Kua series. With over 20 years of graphite shaft innovation and development, SRI Sports is one of the premier golf manufacturers in Japan and their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility has designed and produced over 15 million premium, graphite shafts. Miyazaki Shafts is introducing the new C. Kua series in response to requests from touring professionals and recreational golfers for lighter shafts and increased swingspeed. The C. Kua series is a follow-up to Miyazaki Shafts’ very successful Kusala™ series, a premium fitting series, which is extremely popular with professionals and consumers across the globe.

THE NEW C. KUA SERIES

The new C. Kua series pushes the limits of weight reduction through the use of advanced shaft materials and geometries. With ultralite innovation and performance already proven on tour, the C. Kua series is a True Tour Ultralite™ shaft. Coupled with the International Flex Code™ and Golf’s Most Precise Shaft Fit™, the Miyazaki C. Kua series is positioned to become the leader in tour quality performance and fitting in the ultralite graphite shaft category.

The new C. Kua series of golf shafts represents some of the first shafts in the 40-50 gram weight category to ever be played on tour. Players such as Boo Weekley, Kevin Stadler, Jerry Kelly, Glen Day, and Vijay Singh have already added C. Kua shafts to their bag. To maximize the lightweight design, Miyazaki Shafts has teamed up with Lamkin© Grips to include a proprietary lighter-weight, Miyazaki-specific version of Lamkin Grips’ top-selling Performance Plus™ grip, free with each C. Kua series shaft purchase.

Though this is Miyazaki Shafts’ first tour driven ultralite shaft launched in the North American market, their extensive experience in designing and producing shafts for Asia has provided a significant advantage for the brand in the emerging era of ultralite products. In the past, lightweight shafts were often too soft to be played on tour or by stronger players. The launch of the Miyazaki C. Kua series will give players of all ability levels the opportunity to experience ultralite shaft technology without a sacrifice in feel. The Miyazaki C. Kua 39 series recently became the lightest shafts to ever be played on tour.

The C. Kua line offers three distinct driver and fairway wood flex code families and two distinct hybrid families.

The Miyazaki C. Kua 59 flex code profile was designed to feel extremely stable in the top 3/4 of the shaft with a slightly more active extreme tip section. This produces a mid-trajectory ball flight with added ball speed and a slight fade bias. The 59 series is the choice of players that prefer an extremely stable feel while reducing the weight of their graphite shaft.

The Miyazaki C. Kua 43 flex code profile is designed to be very stiff in the hands and softer in the tip for a very stable feeling and a mid to high trajectory ball flight. The 43 series utilizes a larger butt section to allow for increased stiffness and lighter weight in the top of the shaft. The 43 series is generally preferred by players with a quick swing transition.

The Miyazaki C. Kua 39 series wood shafts utilize a balanced flex code profile with a slightly softer mid tip section to create a powerful loading and release, added swingspeed and distance via a mid-trajectory ball flight. The special edition 39 series is the lightest shaft ever offered by Miyazaki and will only be available in a 0.350 tip configuration. Preferred by players with a smooth tempo and transition, a growing list of tour players, which includes Boo Weekley, Glen Day, Skip Kendall, Roland Thatcher and Chris Wilson, have made the 39 series the lightest shafts ever played on the PGA Tour.

The Miyazaki C. Kua 83 series hybrid shafts offer a tour inspired flex code profile with increased mid tip stiffness to create a consistent and penetrating long-iron trajectory.

Part of the Miyazaki / Lamkin Tour Issue Superlite System™, the 59 series hybrid is one of the lightest tour-proven hybrid shafts ever created. This 59 series utilizes a stiffer butt section and a slightly softer tip to produce higher swingspeed and a distance-enhancing, mid to high trajectory ball flight.

The Miyazaki C. Kua driver and fairway wood family features a premium gold finish, while all hybrid shafts will feature a more subtle dark grey color. Their graphics were created by Miyazaki artist C. Kua, whose designs were inspired by the Earth's most powerful storms. The Miyazaki C. Kua series will carry a $249 MAP for the wood shafts, a $129 MAP on the Hybrid series and will be introduced to exclusive distributors and premium club-fitters in the retail market on Sept 1st, 2010.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

Miyazaki Shafts is driven by the science and artistry of the golf swing. The shaft is the delivery vehicle of the modern golf club and Miyazaki Shafts places the highest premiums on performance, consistency, and effective fitting. Without optimized and consistent delivery of the clubhead to the ball, significant performance potential is lost with every impact. Miyazaki Shafts designs and specifies shafts using a superior approach to quantifying the actual bending and torsional flex profile of each shaft. Miyazaki Shafts has designed a proprietary International Flex Code fitting system which replaces the archaic specifications of frequency, kick point, and torque to give professional fitters and golfers alike a more detailed insight into the specifics of their current shaft and each Miyazaki Shafts design. Miyazaki Shafts utilize the highest grade carbon-fiber materials available to produce innovative bending and torsional profiles geared toward specific player types. Each shaft is precisely constructed to some of the industry’s tightest tolerances to ensure consistent delivery characteristics on each and every shot.

PERFORMANCE VALIDATION

Miyazaki Shafts are designed and prototyped in Kobe City and Miyakonojyo, Japan by their in-house Research and Development teams. Technical validation is conducted at SRI Sports’ world-class 42,000 yd2 test facility in Ichijima, Japan. At this facility, researchers study and catalog the swing “signatures” of amateur and professional golfers, as well as the behavior of shafts, using state-of-the-art proprietary measurement and analysis equipment.

TOUR VALIDATION

Considered one of the fastest growing shafts on golf’s global tours since their introduction in May of 2009, Miyazaki Shafts has posted several wins on worldwide tours. Players such as Vijay Singh, Kevin Stadler, Roland Thatcher, David Toms, Boo Weekley and Gonzalo Fernandez Castaño, as well as many others worldwide, have made the switch to Miyazaki Shafts. These shafts are continuously tested in competition by a rapidly growing number of some of the best players in the world. Unique bending and torsional flex code profiles of each shaft are geared toward ball speed and launch condition optimization for each player type.

Using the same innovative International Flex Code fitting process that is now available to consumers, Miyazaki Shafts educates professional tour staff players on the technical elements of shaft design and fitting to ensure they receive a proper and comprehensive fitting experience. Compared to previous methods of shaft fitting, this tour-proven custom-fitting process results in a more efficient and precise, player-specific fit. As players test their shafts in competition, they provide critical feedback and insight into future iterations. The Miyazaki Shafts philosophy is to design, test, observe, listen and re-design until each offering satisfies their unwavering commitment to make one of the world’s best golf shafts.

GRAPHITE ARTISTRY

Miyazaki Shafts consider the golf swing one of the most artistic movements in all of sports. The originality of their designs is artistically expressed on the canvas of each shaft series. Each series will be named after and defined by the artistic contributions of a talented, but previously unknown, artist. The C. Kua series’ graphics were created by Miyazaki artist C. Kua, whose designs were inspired by the Earth's most powerful storms. For more information on Miyazaki Shafts and the new C. Kua series, please visit www.miyazakigolfshafts.com.

'Hottest Shafts In Golf' obliterates competition at The Barclays; remains #1 shaft on Tour

Aug. 30, 2010 -- POWAY, Calif -- With the help of Aldila's exclusive Micro Laminate Technology™ featured in their NV® shaft series, the winner of The Barclays claimed his first victory of the season and took over the top spot in the PGA Tour Playoffs for the FedEx Cup standings by winning a one-hole playoff.

Led by their latest shaft the RIP® and their number one shaft the VooDoo®, Aldila also dominated the shaft manufacturer counts at the season's first FedEx Cup playoff event, according to the Darrell Survey. "The Hottest Shafts In Golf" tied for first in the driver shaft manufacturer count and obliterated the competition in the wood and hybrid shaft counts. At The Barclays, Aldila had 37 more wood shafts in play than the next leading shaft manufacturer and had nearly twice as many hybrid shafts in play than their closest competitor.

"Players rely on the RIP because it provides lower torque, increased tip stability and better tip stiffness control," said Stewart Bahl, Aldila's Marketing Manager. "The VooDoo's S-core Technology™ is designed to maximize energy transfer to the golf ball, yielding unparalleled distance and accuracy with each swing. It's high modulus carbon stabilization rib that runs the length of the shaft keeps it more concentric, preventing shaft ovaling, deformation and wasted energy during the golf swing."

At the Nationwide Tour's Knoxville News Sentinel Open, Aldila also won the wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts to remain the #1 shaft on Tour. The longest driver in the tournament played Aldila's RIP® in his Driver. He finished the Knoxville News Sentinel Open with a 317.3-yard average.

Aerotech’s Claymore Sends Four to RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship

BELLINGHAM, Washington — Nearly 150 power hitters squared off in the Long Drive Qualifier last week in Mesquite, Nev., and Aerotech Golf’s new Claymore shafts once again delivered in-the-grid accuracy and superior distance. The Claymore shafts are specifically designed to deliver maximum performance even when under the extreme forces generated by Long Drive competitors, and that innovation is now successfully sending four of the contestants to the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship held later this year in Mesquite, Nev.

In the Open Division, 16-year old Domenic Mazza blasted a 436-yard drive and Randall Dawson took one 424 yards using Aerotech Golf’s Claymore LD400 shafts. Dan Depner and Scott Gery advanced into the final round using Claymore shafts but just missed the cut. Eric Jones, the 2003 RE/MAX World Long Drive Senior Champion, and Tomislav Kralj hit the two longest balls in the Senior Division finals using Claymore shafts and both will now advance to the World Championship. All of the finalists were playing drivers built by professional clubfitter John Greenwood of of Greenwoods Golf in Dublin, Calif.

“Our Claymore shafts had great success again this week, and it’s great to see these competitors swing at their full potential without having to be concerned they might overpower their golf shaft’s ability to perform,” says Chris Hilleary, president of Aerotech Golf. “Typically, stronger players who want to play lighter weight shafts must sacrifice swing speed in exchange for accuracy and durability, but the Claymore combines creative material engineering with a unique composite design to deliver the best of both worlds. The shaft is super-lightweight and extremely stable and low-torque, and specifically designed to perform under extreme force, which is perfect for the big hitters.”

The Claymore shaft features a new micro-thin Micro-Tex Carbon Fiber and incorporates more high-modulus fibers at specific fiber angles, including the hoop wound (90°) surface layer, and minimizes shaft distortion for superior stability. The long drive model (Claymore LD) is available in three flexes LD400 (4X flex), LD300 (3X flex) and LD200 (2X flex). This year, Aerotech introduced two all-new Claymore models — MX48 and MX60 — with five flex levels (F1-F5) each. The MX48 weights are 47 grams (F1 flex) through 50 grams (F5 flex), while the slightly heavier MX60 model weighs in at 57 grams (F1) to 60 grams (F5).

About Aerotech
Specializing in uniquely engineered, performance-enhancing golf shafts, Aerotech has supplied shafts to such renowned golf club manufactures as Nike Golf, Cleveland Golf, Adams Golf, Miura, Srixon, Lynx, Nakashima, Scratch Golf, Zevo and Pure Spin among many others.
Graphite Design International Announces The Winner of The Champions Tour JELD-WEN Tradition Played A Graphite Design Tour AD DI Shaft

SAN DIEGO, CA – August 25, 2010 – Graphite Design, maker of some of the most widely played premium golf shafts on the PGA TOUR, announced today that the winner of the Champions Tour JELD-WEN Tradition played a Graphite Design Tour AD DI shaft in his three-wood.

“Congratulations to the winner on his third Champions major of his career,” said Mr. Tak Yamada, VP of Sales & Marketing, Graphite Design. “The fact that he was playing a Graphite Design Tour AD DI shaft is not surprising considering the growing number of Tour Professionals world wide who have switched to the DI shaft since its introduction at the beginning of 2010.”

The JELD-WEN Tradition champion played Graphite Design’s Tour AD DI 7 shaft in his three-wood. He was bogey-free on the back nine of the final round, closing with a 3-under 69 on Sunday to claim a one stroke victory.

“In less than nine months, our Tour AD DI shaft has gained tremendous credibility on the PGA and JPGA Tours, moving to the number two top played shaft on both Tours combined,” added Mr. Yamada. “According to Tour tracking reports, a combined total of 60 Graphite Design Tour AD DI shafts are being played on the PGA and JPGA Tours. The fact that is has become one of the most popular shafts on Tour in less than a year validates its impressive design and performance benefits.”

Designed to provide more power and stability, the Tour AD DI shaft, manufactured exclusively at Graphite Design Japan, has been integrated with Toray Company’s new Nanomaterial technology in the tip section of the shaft. This unique tip technology creates optimal launch and spin conditions to produce increased accuracy and distance. Tour players have been impressed by the fact that when using the Tour AD DI shaft they can increase ball speed and accuracy without giving up distance.

The mid bend profile of the Tour AD DI allows the player to load the shaft properly, yet maintains a firm enough tip section through impact, producing optimal spin and launch conditions. Golfers using the shaft will experience the feel of the ball leaving the club head with a lot of speed while maintaining exceptional feel and control.

The Tour AD DI shaft carries the Tour AD moniker which stands for Tour Accuracy and Distance and has long been known for high quality and superior performance. This is represented by the company’s success that has been documented by professionals and amateurs alike. Graphite Design is the most dominant shaft on the JPGA Tour and has been for the past seven years.

The Tour AD DI shaft is available in four models: The 50 gram Tour AD DI 5 (R2, R1, and S flexes); The 60 gram Tour AD DI 6 (SR, S, and X flexes); The 70 gram Tour AD DI 7 (S and X flexes); and The 80 gram Tour AD DI 8 (S and X flexes).

True Temper Captures Top 10 at Wyndham Championship

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Shafts designed by True Temper Sports — the No. 1 shaft manufacturer in golf — swept all Top 10 money positions at the Wyndham Championship and continued a 16-week winning streak on the PGA TOUR.

At the Wyndham Championship, the winner trusted Dynamic Gold shafts to turn his Monday qualifying spot into a victory and secure his membership on the PGA TOUR. Additionally, True Temper shafts captured every Top 10 money position and led the tournament’s shaft count with 137 sets of the company’s iron shafts in play.

“Shafts by True Temper have been in the bags of 35 PGA TOUR champions this season, and our Dynamic Gold and Project X brands have certainly led the way,” says Scott Hennessy, president and CEO of True Temper Sports. “Accuracy, consistency and distance are the hallmarks of our precision-engineered, high-performance shafts, which is why more professional golfers trust shafts by True Temper than all other brands combined. As we head into the FedEx Cup Playoffs, we look forward to seeing more victories from Dynamic Gold and Project X.”

Featuring a high-flex, tour weight design, Dynamic Gold shafts are the top-selling shaft in golf and are preferred by skilled players seeking a low, penetrating ball flight. True Temper’s Project X shaft is the second most played iron shaft on tour after Dynamic Gold, and features a unique variable taper design with a dedicated taper rate for each shaft in the set. The longer taper rate results in more energy transfer to the ball for a faster and flatter penetrating trajectory. Dynamic Gold shafts are available in tapered and parallel irons and parallel woods, while Project X steel shafts are available in tapered and parallel irons.

Aldila's RIP™ helps drive Czech Open winner to 4th victory on European Tour

'Hottest Shafts In Golf' dominates wood, hybrid shaft manufacturer counts at PGA Championship

Aug. 23, 2010 -- POWAY, Calif -- For the fourth consecutive week Aldila's RIP Technology™ has helped rack up a victory on the PGA, Nationwide or European Tours while making history at the same time. This week the winner of the Czech Open posted his fourth victory on the European Tour using the RIP™ in his Driver. He also finished the tournament tied for second in driving accuracy with a 76.8 percent average.

The RIP was also instrumental for the winner of the Price Cutter Charity Championship on the Nationwide Tour Aug. 15; the Turning Stone winner on the PGA Tour Aug. 8 and for the Greenbrier Classic winner Aug. 1. Playing the RIP in his Driver and 3 Wood, the Greenbrier Classic winner also carded a record-tying 59, the second 59 of the season for Aldila's Technology.

"Aldila's RIP Technology™ provides lower torque, increased tip stability and better tip stiffness control," said Stewart Bahl, Aldila's Marketing Manager. "Through the use of computer modeling technology and exclusive materials provided by the Aldila Materials Division, Aldila engineers were able to completely rethink golf shaft design and performance. The result is a revolutionary shaft with optimum flex and torque characteristics with incredible feel that continues to be tested and proven on across the Tours week after week."

"The Hottest Shafts In Golf" also dominated the wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts on the PGA Tour, according to the Darrell Survey. Aldila had 19 more wood shafts in play and nearly double the amount of hybrid shafts in play than the next leading competitor at the Wyndham Championship.

Using Aldila's VooDoo® featuring S-core (stabilized core) Technology™ in his Driver, the most accurate driver at the Wyndham Championship finished with an 83.93 driving accuracy percentage, which was well ahead of the field's average of 64.27 percent. Also playing the VooDoo in his Driver, the most accurate driver on the Nationwide Tour currently leads the field with a 78.43 driving accuracy percentage.

The VooDoo's S-core Technology is designed to maximize energy transfer to the golf ball, yielding unparalleled distance and accuracy with each swing. It's high modulus carbon stabilization rib that runs the length of the shaft keeps it more concentric, preventing shaft ovaling, deformation and wasted energy during the golf swing.

Aldila is the leading name in graphite golf shafts: It won golf's Grand Slam in 2009, being the most used wood and hybrid shafts at every Major on the PGA Tour. For two years it has been the most played wood and hybrid shaft at every FedEx Cup Playoff event. Are you playing Aldila or just graphite?
