The Praxis Fairway Wood Series combines Henry-Griffitts' Principal Axis Technology with its consistent testing processes, resulting in a head design that benefits from a thin, lightweight, super-hard Carpenter Custom 455 Stainless Steel face produced in the United States by Carpenter Steel. Custom 455, a high-tensile strength material, provides a superior weight-to-strength ratio that permits a thin, light face to be plasma welded to the 17-4 stainless steel body. The combination of this advanced welding technique and lighter face construction allows more weight to be located in the sole, thereby lowering the center of gravity.<br />
<br />
"The Praxis Fairway Wood Series combines the latest technology with a great look that gives us our most outstanding line of fairway woods ever," says Randall Henry, H-G's President. "Golfers will be ready to put new confidence into their bags."<br />

The new Praxis woods also boast a brass sole insert, adding to the low center of gravity. This design feature effectively provides optimal launch angles from all of the five available lofts-15.5, 18.5, 21.5, 24.5 and 28.5 degrees. The results are excellent launch angles and great ball speed with maximum distance and control.<br />
<br />
Henry-Griffitts is leading in another design theory. Its foundry has been able to control clubhead production to a point where H-G can adjust the lie angle and face angle of its fairway woods. This ability has taken years to perfect and allows H-G to offer more options than other manufacturers. Recently, H-G's fairway wood models have been adjustable for lie angle. Now it is applying that adjustability factor to the face angles.<br />
<br />
"Randy Henry's testing over the past couple of years indicates we can accomplish even better ball flight results for our clients by providing heads that can be square, open or closed," Randall Henry says. "It opens up a new aspect of fitting. This is different approach to our past offerings of offset and non-offset woods and we know it will work even better."<br />
<br />
The Praxis also features significantly improved cosmetics. A PVD process changes the color of the sole, face and hosel, then is further enhanced by a unique painting technique that provides a spectacular look.<br />
<br />
The lie of the Praxis Fairway Wood Series is adjustable from 3 degrees up to 3 degrees flat and the face angle is adjustable from 3 degrees open to 3 degrees closed. The weight is adjustable depending on the shaft length and material. The woods carry a bulge of 14 degrees and roll of 12 degrees.<br />

Top ranked Australian Long Drive competitor Craig Grigson, wins for the second week in a row with his SMT Encore driver head, surpassing all other competitors to capture the Tour Championship Title.<br />

"Craig "Animal" Grigson met up with Australia's biggest hitters and wound up once again hoisting the winners trophy". Richdale finished the 54-hole tournament—which ended on Monday due to a weekend of weather delays and darkness suspensions—at 10-under 206 to earn a one-hole playoff victory at The Golf Club at Felicita in Harrisburg, Pa., while using the MC-102- 4 iron through pitching wedge, all with Nippon NS Pro shafts.<br />

The 25-year-old Richdale, in her 16th 2009 event, fired a final-round 68 and earned $15,400 for her second victory this year, placing her fourth on this year’s money list with $54,391 in earnings. Last year the former Illinois State star—who won 10 times in her college career—earned her first career Duramed Futures Tour victory at The Gettysburg (Pa.) Championship.<br />

The unique sole design assures square address and contact position from each clubhead in the set, while at the same time reducing the drag created by turf impact commonly found on all fairway woods on the market today, and virtually eliminating any clubhead twisting caused by inconsistent turf conditions or user error. The multi level design moves the center of gravity much deeper into the head for stability, solid feel and soaring trajectory where there was none before. The sense of confidence that you will have with these fairway clubs is something that you have to experience to believe.<br />

The focus on this head design was spin profile, and player confidence, rather than the old "longer and straighter" that we have all been sold on for decades in this industry, but don't think for a moment that we would sacrifice any distance with this offering, for we did not, as there is not a hotter fairway wood face in the industry today. We found that by focusing on the balls descent to the ground and its relation to design and spin characteristics we were able to squeeze more out of a clubhead than we ever thought possible. We weren't happy until we got this one where we wanted it to be, and it took 14 different mock ups, and one calendar year to get the new 3390 Series exactly right! <br />

Clubhead size, center of gravity, hosel depth, hosel length, loft choices and clubhead material all presented their own gremlins for us at times, especially relating each to the other during design changes. It never ceases to amaze how a small change in one feature can throw something else totally off balance. But this, the final result, is something truly spectacular and one that has achieved the exact goals intended for this rather exciting line of SMT fairway woods. <br />
