We all know the Antigua name and brand.... if you want to look the best, and have the best quality material over your shoulders, then you wear Antigua! It's that simple! And you will not be disappointed in their latest offering - the Desert Dry Xtra-Lite (D2XL) series of shirts. I was able to get an up-close in-person preview of these shirts at the 2010 PGA Merchandise Show held earlier this year in Orlando, Florida and I was pleasantly surprised when I received a few shirts about a month ago in the mail from Mary Beth Lacy - Antigua's PR Representative.

Now to be honest, when I was back at the PGA Show feeling the ultra-thin and ultra-smooth materials in my finger tips, I was thinking to myself there is no way I'm going to wear this type of shirt... you see, I'm a big guy.. and us big guys generally like a thicker standard cotton shirt.. don't ask me why.. we just do.... but boy was I being narrow minded... I remember at the show telling Sean Gregg, Head Designer from Antigua, that there was no way that I would wear this shirt.. but hey, I admit when I am wrong.. and wrong I was.... when I put the shirt on, it felt great! And looked even better! On a non-golf related avenue I wore one of the new shirts over to my mother's house for Easter lunch... She greeted me at her front door and before I even got my traditional hug, she commented on the shirt and said, "Wow, what a great looking shirt." On a golf related avenue, I wore the other shirt the next day while playing a round of golf and the materials do wick sweat away from your body and it does make you cooler! In fact, even just working around in my office as well as in my shop studio I felt cooler! I just had to find out how little these shirts weigh so back in my shop studio I go.. I placed a typical and standard XXL Golf Shirt that I wear on my digital club scale... 429 grams or 15.2 ounces.... ok, now for the Antigua XXL shirt... Holy Cow! --- it only weighs 237 grams or 8.3 ounces! That's almost 50% lighter! Good grief... what a huge difference! You can certainly feel this difference while it's on your body!

I was sent, and have been wearing, 2 styles - an Advance #100214 in color 071 MBY/BIR and a Limit #100248 in color 992/BLA/MGT. Both shirts are tag-less inside the neck (no more scratchy itchy) and both have a small Antigua logo patch on the right sleeve which I personally believe brings an additional special "classy" touch to the shirts. Both shirts are 100% polyester with Desert Dry™ Xtra-Lite D2XL technology. What does that really mean? Well the Desert Dry Xtra-Lite is a combination of Antigua's exclusive Desert Dry moisture wicking feature combined with specially constructed ultra-light fabrics for maximum wicking performance and optimum comfort. What does that really mean? A great looking and great feeling keep-you-dryer-and-cooler shirt - all by Antigua - a name you just can't go wrong with.

Wear it on the course for performance... wear it around the country club for style. The shirts have a suggested retail price of $70.00. For more information on Antigua and these Desert Dry Xltra-Lite shirts, please visit http://www.Antigua.com .
